A public hearing on Volvo's request for tax credits in return for a planned 42-million dollar industrial development is on Tuesday's Greenville County Council agenda.
Volvo wants to build a tooling plant to support its Charleston area automotive manufacturing center. There are two proposed Greenville County locations, Moon Acres near Piedmont or the Woodside Avenue industrial district in Fountain Inn.
Council is required to hear from the public before it can agree to the tax credits allowed in exhange for investments of at lest 35 million dollars . Anyone who wants to speak out on that must register in person at the University Ridge County Square office between 5:30 aand 6:00 tonight when the session gavels down.
