The number of new COVID-19 cases in the Palmetto State is now more than the levels we saw this past summer. Over 2,400 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in South Carolina in each of the past four days. Saturday's 2,715 new confirmed infections were the most reported on one single day since the pandemic began in March. South Carolina reported 2,470 new cases Friday and 2,538 on Sunday. On Monday, December 7, SCDHEC reported 2,413 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The seven-day average of new cases is now above 2,000 for the very first time.
Here in the Upstate, Greenville County reported the highest number of new confirmed cases with 367. Spartanburg County reported the second highest number of new confirmed cases with 224.
