Crime Stoppers of Greenville Wednesday held their annual awards ceremony to recognize the efforts of local law enforcement.
The Crime Stoppers of Greenville held the ceremony to present the James Russell Sorrow Memorial Award and the SHIELD Award in honor of fallen Greenville law enforcement personnel and in recognition of the efforts of officers who go above and beyond in the line of duty.
“Today, we are here to honor current outstanding officers for the difficult duties they undertake to secure the safety and security of citizens while also remembering those who have fallen,” Crime Stoppers of Greenville Vice President Chuck Thomas said. “As with any organization, we could not be successful without the people that serve it the most.”
This year’s James Russell Sorrow Memorial Award was split, awarded to both Deputy Jonathan Hill of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and Lance Corporal Devin Kugler of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Senior Special Agent Eldon McCraw, Jr. with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division was also recognized at the ceremony for receiving the SHIELD Award.
