The execution date of a convicted murderer has now been set. The State Dept. Of Corrections says, Brad Keith Sigmon is set to be executed May 13th. He was sentenced to death after he was convicted in 2002, on two counts of Murder and 1st Degree Burglary from Greenville County.
Sigmon was originally slated to be put to death last year, but the state halted his execution while developing firing squad practices. The Dept. Of Corrections says, Sigmon will be able to choose how he dies 14 days prior to the execution date.
He will choose between the electric chair and firing squad. However, the State Supreme Court has just recently ordered a temporary hold on the firing squad execution set for another death row inmate.
