A public comment session held Thursday night revealed criticisms of controversial reading material at public libraries. The Greenville County Council held a public comment forum and many residents spoke about the LGBTQ book selection in the Greenville County Library system.
During the session, the County Council did make it clear that they have no authority in decision making concerning the county's library system. The council says, they plan to have more discussion on the library materials at their meeting, next Tuesday.
Many of those critical of some of the reading selection, believe it is obscene and inappropriate material. The comment session comes just months after a list of banned books and how to obtain them was distributed at the library in Travelers Rest.
