With jobs being created and already existing worker shortages around South Carolina, legislators hope an increase in funding for trade schools will remedy the issue. Governor McMaster has announced that the state will invest an additional 25 million dollars in the Workforce Scholarships For The Future initiative. The program covers tuition at any of the 16 technical colleges around the Palmetto State. The additional 25 million is on top of the nearly 40 million already allocated to the program by the General Assembly. The state says, nearly sixty-two hundred South Carolinians have already benefited from the program training in skill trades like Nursing, Welding, Truck Driving and Electrical. Do you agree with this major investment in South Carolina's technical colleges?
