Huntley was charged with Voluntary Manslaughter and several other charges, she entered guilty pleas to the charges. The shooting happened in front of Huntley's home. The circumstances in the case are rather unique. Investigators say, that Toney had been at Huntley's home earlier the same day. Toney had reportedly sold marijuana to Huntley's teenage grandchild and had demanded payment. When Toney didn't receive payment she vowed to return and shoot up the home. Toney did return that night with a companion, when they returned Huntley shot and killed Toney. Court records say that Huntley thought the two were armed. However, no guns other than the one Huntley used were recovered from the scene. Huntley was sentenced to 30 years but that sentence was suspended to three years. She served three years in the meantime, so she was released after time served. She will be on 5 years of both house arrest and probation and faces a long term prison stay, if she violates the conditions of her release. Do you agree with the sentencing of Linda Huntley?
