With school starting back in the coming weeks, it seems the safety in schools is a topic at the forefront of discussion. Earlier this calendar year, we saw the tragic mass shooting at a school in Uvalde, Texas. But, another tragedy along those same lines happened here in the Upstate. Earlier this year, a student was fatally shot at Greenville's Tanglewood Middle School. The Greenville County School System is implementing a new weapons detection system to help make their schools safer. Another Upstate district is also implementing changes in that same effort. Laurens County District 55 is implementing a policy that requires all backpacks to be clear and transparent. With all that said, it still begs the question for today. Do you feel confident in the safety of your child's school?
