Alex Murdaugh has become one of the state's most criminal figures in the last 12 months. To date, he has been indicted numerous times and faces a total of over 75 charges. However, it's the recent speculation on possible murder charges that have now began to dominate the headlines. Reports have surfaced, that SLED has notified members of the Murdaugh Family that they will seek murder indictments against Alex. His wife Maggie and son Paul were killed in June of 2021 on the family's hunting estate. Prior to now, SLED had only listed Murdaugh as a "person of interest" in the case because he found their bodies and called 9-1-1 to make the report. In the 9-1-1 call Murdaugh told the operator one had been shot with a rifle and the other with a shotgun. Murdaugh has not been charged in their murders as of yet.
