A suspect is in custody after police say he stabbed a dog to death at a park in Western North Carolina. The Asheville Police Department responded to the City Park on Murdock Avenue, just before 3:30 Monday afternoon.
Officers arrived and spoke with the dog's owner who said she was playing pickleball, when a man walked up and slashed the dog's throat. The dog died from injuries suffered in the attack.
