A suspect is in custody after a chase with deputies Thursday night in Western North Carolina. The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was parked on the side of I-26 Westbound at Long Shoals Road, around 10PM.
The suspect driver hit the patrol vehicle and kept driving. A chase then ensued across Buncombe County and ended on Hendersonville Road. The suspect Vincent Nelson was then taken into custody.
One deputy suffered minor injuries in the incident. Nelson was injured and was taken to a hospital before being booked in Buncombe County.
He's charged with failure to stop, resisting arrest, hit and run and a list of other charges.
