Driver of Stolen Truck Boxed In by Deputies...
Hart County deputies recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested a suspect late last night. Around 10:45 p.m., June 2, 2026, deputies located a Ford Super Duty that had been reported stolen from Elbert County. The truck was spotted on Anderson Highway headed toward Hartwell.
When the driver pulled into a Wendy's restaurant, deputies moved in and boxed in the vehicle to prevent the suspect from fleeing. The driver, 26-year-old Kaleb Ray Plyler, was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence, and marijuana possession. Additional charges could be filed by the Elbert County Sheriff's Office.
The stolen truck was recovered and will be returned to its owner.
