Drug round up in the Upstate nets over two dozen suspects

A major drug round up in the Upstate Wednesday resulted in a multitude of arrests. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office arrested over two dozen suspects after a 6 month investigation that was brought on by complaints from county residents.

There are 40 suspects total in the investigation and the group faces a total of 56 charges, meaning most are charged with multiple drug crimes. The Sheriff's Office says 27 of the suspects are charged with for meth, 7 for fentanyl, another 7 for crack, others face charges for pills and introducing contraband.

The sweep began at 830 AM Wednesday morning and as of 5 pm the same evening, 30 people had been arrested in the operation.
