The progress of power restoration has been happening in the Upstate and WNC. However, that progress has been a process.

A release from Duke Energy on Saturday said that 90% of capable power in the Carolinas has been restored. Duke says that it has restored power to over 2 million customers in the Carolinas.

As of 1PM Sunday, Duke's outage map showed that nearly 50,000 people in Greenville and Spartanburg Counties were still without power. In Greenwood County, 10,000 remained in the dark of Sunday afternoon.

About 3,000 customers in both Anderson and Laurens Counties were still without power. As of Sunday afternoon, well over a 100,000 Duke customers in Western North Carolina were still in the dark.

The company said restoration efforts would continue throughout Sunday and Monday.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY:
Spartanburg County continues with Helene recovery efforts and road work. County Leaders held a press conference Monday sharing some updates....

Power restoration is still not yet 100% in the county and Duke Energy is asking Spartanburg residents who do have power, please turn on outside porch lights in hopes to expedite sweeps.

Now that streets are clear of debris, Roads and Bridges crews will now focus on bridge and culvert inspections.

Debris removal will officially begin this week: residents should move all vegetative debris to the edge of your property within 10 ft. from the road. NO trash or bagged debris. Keep clear of fire hydrants and mailboxes. The County will be making multiple sweeps for the next few months picking up vegetative debris. .

The Voter registration deadline for SPG County has been extended to Oct 14, 2024.
