Two Upstate educators are facing charges in separate incidents involving special needs students.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says 44 year old, Mary Simmons Dobbins of Woodruff was arrested last week on a charge of cruelty to children.
The Sheriff's Office says she hit a 17 year old special needs student in the head twice. The incident was captured on video and happened at the Mccarthy-Teslzer School in Spartanburg, last month.
The 2nd educator, 23 year old Elizabeth Mae Wypych a teachers assistant at Todd Elementary faces the same charge. The Sheriff's Office says earlier this month, Wypych dragged a four year old special needs student down the hallway by their wrist.
