A Western North Carolina NC man has been sentenced to over a decade for child sex crimes. 72-year-old Carl Dennis Buckner of Buncombe County pleaded guilty to felony sex crime charges including attempted statutory sex offense and indecent liberties with a minor.
The charges stem from a February 2025 investigation by the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office. Buckner has been sentenced to between 12-20 years in prison in the North Carolina Prison System. He must register as a sex offender for 30 years, and is prohibited from contacting the victim for the rest of his life.
