A married couple is dead after a crash in Western North Carolina, Wednesday afternoon. The Asheville Police Department responded to the two vehicle wreck on Tunnel Road around 1:30 PM.
Police say, the car the couple was in hit was hit by a pickup truck, as the car tried to turn left on Tunnel Road.
The two people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims have been identified as 75 year old Matthew Metcalf and his wife 72 year old, Charlotte Metcalf.
The driver of the truck was transported to Mission Hospital in Asheville to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
