An elderly woman is dead and an investigation is ongoing after a weekend shooting in the Upstate. he Greenville County Sheriff's Office responded around 4 PM Saturday afternoon to a reported shooting at the intersection of Wade Hampton Blvd. and Edwards Mill Road in Taylors.
Upon arrival, deputies found a passenger in a vehicle that had been shot, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Greenville County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 76 year old, Betty Diane Amick of Travelers Rest. An autopsy is set to be performed on Monday.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Offiice has arrested 26-year-old Jonathan Luben in connection to this shooting. He is is charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, and Assault and Battery 1st. He is being held without bond in the Greenville County Detention Center.
