An employee of the Hendersonville McDonald's where a woman was shot to death Monday, is now charged with murder and a weapons violation.

Hendersonville Police Chief Blair Myhand calls the shooting a case of an "extreme over-reaction" by the employee, Sam Antwan Ivey.

The chief says surveillance video shows two women got into an arguement at a bus stop on Four Seasons Boulevard in front of the McDonald's entering the restaurant. They were still shouting at each other when Ivey approached, ordered one of them, ( now identified as Jacklyn Marie Reed from Johnson City, Tennessee) to leave.

Reed left briefly, but came back inside, and confronted Ivey who drew a concealed handgun and fired one shot.

The chief says his department had been contacted several times about the victim's erratic behavior during the week she was there in town, but his statement adds, "she didn't deserve to die."

Ivey is being held without bond on the charges of 2nd degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
