Thursday night marked the induction of the 2021 Greenville County Schools Hall Of Fame Gala. The event was held at the Greenville Convention Center. The class was an accomplished and versatile cast featuring 2016 Olympic Silver Medalist Sandi Morris and Greenville Mayor Knox White. Also amongst the honorees were standout athlete and notable attorney Ernie Hamilton, Dr. Chuck and Sandra Welch who served in the system for over a 100 years combined, longtime Hillcrest Teacher Bill Evans, and published poet Glenis Redmond.
I was able to catch up with several members of this year's class. I visited with Sandi Morris about what the honor means for her as a Greenville native. Her Silver Medal performance in 2016 and what makes her more nervous public speaking or pole vaulting at the Olympics. The entire conversation is below.
Greenville Mayor Knox White was amongst those honored as well. Mayor White is an alumnus of Greenville High School. He and I visited, about what the more means to him and how the Greenville area schools are paramount to the city's growth. The full interview is below.

Dr. Chuck and Sandra Welsh have dedicated their lives to educating Greenville County's youth. Their service in education had astounding longevity with over 100 years between the two of them. They spoke with me about what the honor means to them, how educators adapt as times change and other topics. That interview with Dr. and Mrs. Welsh is below.
