An arrest has been made after a potential explosive device was found at an Upstate gas station over the weekend. The Pickens Police Department responded to the Xpress Mart on East Cedar Rock Street, just after 5PM Sunday.
Police responded after a suspected explosive device was found on top of a gas pump. The Anderson County Bomb squad was called in and determined that the device was a pressure cooker that was put there, as part of a hoax.
. Investigators say Alvin Powell of Pickens was later arrested in connection to the hoax. He's charged with possession of a hoax destructive device and breach of peace. That investigation continues.
