A Midlands man is dead after what appeared to be a fatal accident at an Upstate lake. The Oconee County Coroner's Office says a man was found in the water of Lake Keowee near Seneca, Saturday night.
Officials say, that fireworks caught fire during a display and detonated early. That led multiple people to jump from the dock into the water. A man was found in the water face down after jumping from the dock. He was later pronounced dead at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
The victim has been identified as 20 year old Brock Jackson of Aiken. The Coroner's Office says an autopsy is scheduled to help determine his cause of death.
