Controversy seems to be swirling around one Upstate School Administrator. Earlier this week, Dr. Dana Fall announced that he had accepted the position as Superintendent of Spartanburg School District 4 and was leaving his post as Superintendent of Cherokee County.
However, the School Board in Spartanburg District 4 held a special called meeting and voted against hiring Fall. Numerous members of the Woodruff Community reportedly spoke out at the public meeting.
On Thursday, the Cherokee County School Board voted 7-2 to place Dr. Fall on leave. There's been no reason cited publicly by either board for their decisions. Dr. Carl Carpenter has been named the interim Superintendent in Cherokee County.
