Family of man fatally shot by Deputies asking for answers

The family of the man fatally shot by Greenville County Deputies earlier this week, is seeking answer's after his death. Upstate Activist Bruce Wilson, leader of Fighting Injustice Together has released a statement on behalf of the family of 34 year old, Terrance Maurice Sligh.

The statement says, the family has made a formal request to Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis asking to view body and dash cam footage from Wednesday's fatal encounter. The family also is asking to have Sligh's hands swabbed for gun powder residue.

The Sheriff's Office says, Sligh was shot and killed after a run-in with Deputies at an apartment complex in Taylors. Sheriff Lewis said Wednesday, Deputies were serving a warrant on Sligh after he sent a threatening message to his ex-girlfriend. Lewis also said, Sligh was armed at the time he was approached by Deputies.

SLED is investigating the shooting, all Deputies involved are currently on administrative leave which is standard practice in officer involved shootings.
