The family of 34 year old, Terrance Sligh is holding a press event at 11 AM Monday in Greenville to speak on information related to his death. Sligh was shot and killed while ,during an encounter with Greenville County Deputies last Wednesday, in Taylors.

Local activist Bruce Wilson will host the press conference and speak on behalf of Sligh's mother and family. Information expected to be points of discussion, include the family speaking with Sligh's ex-girlfriend. He reportedly sent a threatening message to her, which prompted the Sheriff's Office to respond.

The family says, law enforcement was informed that Sligh was having a mental health crisis and may have been suicidal hours before his death. The family has formally requested to immediately view the dash and body cam footage of the incident.

The Sheriff's Office has denied that request, but says it will make the footage available 45 days after the incident. That has been standard practice in similar situations.
