Husband and wife business team cheat homeowners with a scam that stretched into Georgia...
The owners of A&M Fence Systems, Michael John and Sharon Wickham, are facing charges in both South Carolina and the Peach State.
According to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, back in October, a Dalrymple homeowner hired the couple to install a backyard metal fence. After a $4,500 deposit was put down, the Wickams cashed the check then fabricated documents to make it appear parts had been ordered.
An investigation revealed those parts were never ordered.
The Starr, SC based company (which has been in business for 5 years) also successfully tricked a Georgia homeowner out of $5,000 in early 2024.
The couple was arrested and charged with Breach of Trust and Obtaining Goods Under False Pretenses. They've since bonded out. Michael Wickham is also facing felony charges in Georgia.
The Sheriff's Office added an important note, "this involves A&M Fence Systems only. Not Wickham Fence, which is an entirely different fencing company."
