A fire last month in Western North Carolina decimated a business owned by a firefighter there. On June 22nd, a fire in Waynesville destroyed a 20 foot food trailer and damaged another trailer.
The trailers were owned by firefighter Ben Hooper. He had been running Ben's Backdraft BBQ out of the food trailers for the last 18 months along with his wife. Officials say the fire was caused by an electrical issue.
The fire destroyed all the equipment inside the food trailer. Hooper had just left his position as a firefighter to focus on the food truck business full time. The fire did well over $50,000 worth of damage.
