A Florida juvenile has been charged for making threats towards Western North Carolina schools. The Mitchell County Sheriff's Office says the Middle and Elementary Schools received several phone calls that started with profanity laced comments and then came threats to "shoot up the school".
That happened Friday and state and federal agents were called into investigate. On Saturday, it was announced that a boy from Florida had been arrested in connection to the threats.
Officials say, they are not aware of any connections the boy had to Mitchell County. Investigators say no credible threat was found in the incident.
