A Florida man has been cited after a massive wildfire in Western North Carolina. The North Carolina Forest Service says 51 year old, Duff Swan of Maitland, Florida received a citation for burning debris which started the Poplar Drive Fire in Henderson County.
The blaze spread across more than 400 acres after 1st starting on private party in October 26th. The fire destroyed five different structures, damaged a home and two firefighters suffered minor injuries.
The wildfire is now said to be more than 95% contained. The citation issued carries a maximum fine of just 50 dollars.
