A Florida man is now in custody for a fatal hit and run in Western North Carolina. As we previously reported, a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Asheville Highway in Brevard, October 3rd.
The victim 50 year old, Roy Lee Waters of Brevard died from his injuries, October 6th. Investigators then identified the suspect as 45 year old, Robert Michael Boland of Palm City, Florida.
Boland was located and taken into custody Tuesday night in Haywood County. Boland has been charged with felony hit and run, felony obstruction of justice, involuntary manslaughter and driving with a revoked license. Boland is being held in Translyvania County on a bond of $500,000.
