A Florida man will spend a decade in prison for a sex-tortion scheme that prayed on children, including two from the Upstate. 23 year old, Peterson Jean-Baptiste was convicted on child pornography charges, while he was already on probation for a drug conviction.
Court documents say, Jean-Baptiste would request nude photos and once he received them, he threatened to post them online unless he received more. Investigators say, he would make victims pose and forced some of them to involve animals in the photos.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says, the investigation started when a parent of a victim was informed about the scheme. The Department Of Homeland Security got involved due to the crimes spanning multiple states.
