Investigators in Anderson County say a Friday Night Football Fight was likely a case of mistaken identity.
Williamston Police reviewed video and conducted interviews following the brawl that broke out after the Wren vs Palmetto High School football game at Palmetto, Friday night.
Officers determined that several female students were involved in a fight that injured a 15 year old female Palmetto High School student. Her injuries required a trip to a hospital.
SRO's on the scene broke up the fight. Investigators have charged two 15 year old female Wren students who were the primary aggressors when they mistook the Palmetto student for another with which they had an ongoing dispute.
Both Wren students have been charged with Assault and Battery 2nd Degree. Because the individuals are juveniles, the charges have been referred to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice for handling in Family Court.
