Well it's one of the shortest coaching tenures in history, as a college football coach in North Carolina has already been fired. Gardner Webb University has announced the termination of Head Football Coach Kris McCullough. His tenure their lasted just one game, on Monday the school announced he had been suspended pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation.
The details of the investigation have not been made public, but it is said to have been an internal investigation into off-the-field issues. The firing comes after Gardner Webb lost their season opener 35-17 to Austin Peay last week.
McCullough had been hired by Gardner Webb at the end of last season, he had previously served as Head Coach at the University Of Texas-Permian Basin in Odessa.
The school has announced that Pete Bennett will serve as interim Head Coach. The Runnin' Bulldogs are back in action Saturday afternoon at Wofford.
