A former American Idol top 5 finisher now facing felony charges will stay behind bars for the time being.17 year old Caleb Kennedy appeared before a circuit judge Thursday for a bond hearing. He was not granted a bond during a hearing in February as blood test results and other medical evidence were not available.

On Thursday, Judge Daniel Hall did not grant him a bond either, saying the conditions for his bond have not yet been met. Kennedy faces a felony DUI charge after police say he hit and killed 54 year old Larry Parris, earlier this year.
Investigators claim Kennedy had marijuana in his system at the time of the deadly crash. In his 1st court appearance Kennedy's attorney claimed he may have had a bad reaction to a prescribed medication. According to his attorney, Kennedy is under suicide watch while he remains in custody at the Spartanburg County Jail.
