A former employee at a residential care facility in the Upstate has now pleaded guilty to abusing a patient. 54 year old Ursula Davis of Clinton entered a guilty plea to a charge of abuse of a vulnerable adult , on Wednesday.
The charge stems from an incident in July of last year when Davis was working at NHC location in Laurens. The State Attorney General's Office says Davis struck the patient and used a headlock to subdue the patient.
The case was investigated by the Laurens Police Department and the State AG's Office Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, which is the unit charged with looking into abuse claims at assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
