
A former in-state College Baseball coach who specialized in working with pitchers will now look to work his way out of a jam after being charged with child neglect.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office says 44 year old, Matthew Browning Heath has been arrested after an investigation into allegations of neglect. The Sheriff's Office opened their investigation after being contact by DSS.
Arrest warrants say between November of last year and January 1st of this year that Heath pushed a child down the stairs, threw a child to the floor and deprived a child of food on multiple occasions.
Heath served as an Assistant to Clemson Baseball Coach Monte Lee in 2022. He previously was the Associate Head Coach at UT-Martin from 2019 through 2021. Heath was the Head Coach at College Of Charleston. He also served as pitching coach at College Of Charleston under Lee from 2011-2015.
