A former Upstate fire chief and deputy coroner is facing criminal charges. According to arrest records, Joshua P. Parker has been charged with embezzlement of public funds and two counts of first-degree voyeurism.
The Cherokee County Detention Center says, Parker was booked Monday and remained in custody Monday afternoon. Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says Parker was fired following his arrest by SLED. Fowler says,
Parker was suspended without pay in December after Buffalo Fire Department officials accused him of misappropriating funds while serving as chief. The coroner says the charges are not related to Parker’s role as a deputy coroner.
