A Former Upstate deputy is now facing charges. Former Oconee County Narcotics agent is accused of Misconduct in Office.
SLED says, 46 year old Derek Pace sent explicit text messages, photographs, and videos to an informant between May and December 2023.
He was the handler of the informant at the time of the alleged misconduct. He was arrested Friday and as of the time of this report, is in custody at the Oconee County Jail.
The Sheriff's Office says Pace is no longer employed there.
