A former State Representative is set to be sentenced on child sex crime charges, Wednesday. RJ May pleaded guilty to 5 counts of distribution of child sexual abuse material in September.
May is asking the court for leniency. His attorneys are asking that he be sentenced to just five years in prison. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 20 years, which the prosecution is asking for.
May is being held in Edgefield County and is set to be sentenced in federal court at 10AM, Wednesday.
