Four people are dead after a plane crash in Union County. Authorities say, it happened near the Union County Airport, around 6:30 PM Friday. The Sheriff’s Office responded after reports of smoke near the end of the runway.
According to Federal Aviation Administration Officials, the aircraft involved was a Mooney M20P. The coroner confirmed over the weekend that four people were killed.
Their names will be released once family members are notified. Officials say the plane was stopping in Union to refuel. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are continuing to investigate.
