Furman University has once again ranked among the best colleges in the nation.
The "Best Colleges" rankings were released this week from the US News & World Report, which ranked Furman University as the 45th best liberal arts college overall in the nation, one spot higher than last year's rankings.
Furman as also ranked very highly in several other specific categories, including ranking 4th in the "Most Innovative School" ranking and 29th in the "Best Undergraduate Teaching" ranking.
The Greenville-based university also ranked 31st and 32nd in "Undergraduate Research" and "First-Year Experience" respectively, beating out other South Carolina schools such as Clemson and the University of South Carolina.
In a press release following the ranking's publication, University President Elizabeth Davis said "We know rankings like these reflect only a small part of Furman's value and our educational experience, but it's nice to have our peers recognize the hard work, dedication and innovation of our students, faculty and staff, who truly earn the recognition."
