A Georgia man will spend half of a century behind bars after pleading guilty to a list of child sex crimes. 43 year old Kelly Garrett Ivey pleaded guilty last week to charges of sex trafficking, attempted rape, 1st degree cruelty to children and other crimes.
Court records say, in 2023, Ivey posted a photo of a 16 year old girl on the dark web. The captain said for a price, Ivey would share information on where the girl could be found so she could be kidnapped and sexually assaulted.
The mother of the victim said they did not know Ivey personally but recognized him from when he volunteered at their church.
Court evidence revealed there were two other potential victims. Ivey has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
