(GREENVILLE, SC) – Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have made two arrests in connection with a shooting that occurred outside of a convenience store, located on Cedar Lane and Worth Street in Greenville.
Deputies responded to 1121 Cedar Lane Road last night after two gunshot victims reported being shot. During the course of the investigation, investigators learned that the two suspects, identified as 20 year-old, Dustin Lee Bolin and 53 year-old, Stephanie Wheeler along with Bolin’s girlfriend, were at the convenience store when Bolin’s girlfriend allegedly claimed the two victim’s made passes at her. After learned this, Bolin allegedly exited the car and began shooting at the victims while they were inside of their vehicle, before running from the scene. The victim’s then drove across the street and called for help.
A short time later deputies located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop that led to the apprehension of both suspects and seizure of a firearm. Bolin is charged with 2 counts of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime and Wheeler is charged with Accessory after the fact and Unlawful Neglect of a Child after investigators learned that Bolin’s girlfriend was also Wheeler’s daughter and that Wheeler put her daughter at unreasonable risk by picking up the suspect who had just shot two people with the intent to help the suspect flee.
The two victims are expected to recover. Bolin and Wheeler are in the Greenville County Detention Center where they face bonds of no bond and $25,000, respectively.
