A drug trafficking suspect is in custody after deputies say he swallowed a large amount of fentanyl, while trying to avoid arrest. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office pulled over a driver in Taylors.
The Sheriff's Office says the driver Brian Jenkins tried to evade deputies and then ingested several ounces of fentanyl. When Jenkins was taken into custody, he became unresponsive and was taken to the hospital.
A search of his vehicle uncovered an ounce of meth, almost half an ounce of fentanyl and almost an ounce of marijuana. Jenkins is charged with trafficking meth and fentanyl, resisting arrest and other crimes.
