Greenville County Deputies say they captured the kidnapping suspect who ran from the wreck of a stolen car leaving a baby in it. They had been sent to an address in the 1400 block of Buncombe Road just after 7:00 AM Tuesday morning where car had been stolen with the child inside.
They got a report that a car matching the description was involved in a collision at the nearby intersection of Buncombe and Old Buncombe Roads. The suspect had run from the wreck leaving the baby in the car.
Deputies say they caught the suspect a short time later. Meanwhile the child, said to be under one year old, has been checked out at the hospital and is reported to be alright. No details on charges at this point, but the initial report from the Sheriff's Office calls the incident "a kidnapping."
