"Ghost Story": Indictments announced in immigration case

The State Attorney General's Office has announced grand jury indictments in an investigation. The case known as "Ghost Story" centers around identity theft and other crimes tied to illegal immigration. The investigation began in 2024 and has led to 6 defendants being indicted.

Attorney General Alan Wilson said in a press conference Thursday that a Precision Casting plant in Abbeville was raided yesterday and two managers were arrested and 48 workers were detained by ICE. The two managers Christopher Douglas Ramey and Sandy Lynn Willis were taken into custody. They are charged with conspiracy, identity fraud and forgery.


The indictments stem from an investigation into immigrants obtaining fake identification documents. It also cited thar a business knowingly facilitated the use of those fraudulent ID documents to hire illegal immigrants. Four others were indicted for allegedly using those fake documents.

Those four include Jose Luis Mejia, Lazaro Hernandez, Xavier Martinez Adorno and Zenon Rojas- Cabrera. They all face charges for identity fraud and forgery.
