GoFundMe has removed pages created on behalf of Decarlos Brown, the man who was seen on video fatally stabbing a woman in Charlotte.
The company says fundraisers for legal defenses of those charged with a violent crime are prohibited. The stabbing happened on a light rail train in the Queen City, last month and left a 23 year old Ukrainian refugee dead.
The woman and her family had fled from war torn Ukraine in 2022. Brown has a long criminal history. He's charged with murder and is being held without bond.
While campaigns for Brown's defense have been stifled, a separate verified fundraiser to support the victim's family remains active on GoFundMe.
