The Director of the South Carolina Dept. Of Juvenile Justice has resigned after five years in the position. Governor McMaster announced the resignation of Freddie Pough on Tuesday.
The Governor did not give any reasons cited by Pough for his resignation. The letter of resignation from Pough did not make it clear what his reasons were either.
Governor McMaster said he was grateful for Pugh's leadership in the position and said the state will begin working immediately to find a replacement. Eden Hendrick, who has been working in the state's Dept. Of Administration will serve as Interim Director.
