Much debate continues regarding the Greenville County Council voting down a resolution to move controversial books from the children's section of the county's 12 public library locations. Council Chairman Willis Meadows joined the Charlie James Show on Wednesday and he explained why he voted against the resolution.
Meadows says, he supports the idea behind Councilman Joe Dill's measure but says, the idea of suspending the council's rules was his issue. He says, that the wording in Dill's resolution is what ultimately kept the council from supporting it.
Dill maintains that the resolution could have been amended after it was passed to make the wording better. Meadows will be moving off the council after losing in the election earlier this year to Benton Blount. Charlie's full interview with Willis Meadows is below.
