Questions about the future leadership direction for the Greenville County Republican Party are expected to be answered at their convention Monday night.
For the last two years, the Greenville County Republicans and South Carolina GOP have been divided and have had ongoing issues. The current local leaders campaigned as a "MAGA" slate in 2021. A wedge began to grow between the state party and local republican leaders after the state leaders depicted the county party as uncooperative.
The state party then seized control of Greenville County's precinct redistricting process. That move was not at all well received by the local leadership. Local Republican Chair Jeff Davis took exception to it and labeled state leadership as "RINO's .Davis is now running for Greenville County's spot on the state party's executive committee.
The event is Monday night at the Greenville Convention Center. Charlie James from News/Talk 98.9 WORD will serve as the host of the convention.
